This is a first rate analysis of a topic that is infrequently covered by western academicians. Le Sueur is extraordinarily knowledgeable and writes lucidly. Highly recommended for those who are interested in contemporary Algeria.

Hurried and inadequate

I was expecting a more balanced and thought through historical account. The author speculates and writes at will without properly backing up his claims. He goes on and on about al Qaeda as if he were employed by the US government. Unfortunately there is not much out there on this topic. Not worth it!
